Anyone around here from the Great State of Maine? I'd be interested in hooking up with traditional arms hunters in my neck of the woods.

I'm in Orono! What are the chances? I'd love to hook up with shooters who are willing to show a completely newcomer to blackpowder the ropes. I'm a high school teacher so my schedule opens up considerably in the spring/summer. I'm just starting to explore reenacting and the 18th century is my area of interest, so any tips or links are welcome.

Geoff,
Feel free to give ma a call anytime at 207-272-0286. I'll fill ya in on what we have going on at PLR and the Ancient Ones as far as shoots, gatherings, etc. The PLR range is only 10 miles from my house in Carmel, and I'd be happy to take you to the range and help ya get squared away on the shooting side of the game. Still learning the reenacting part myself, but we're always looking for new blood.

Take care,

Kevin

Egads! From Away! Well, I'm originally from the mid-coast and I know some Mainers don't consider us true natives, either. So, maybe, just maybe I can let it slide.

Shine is pretty close, I'm trying to GET AWAY! Kidding aside, the Ancient Ones is a pretty good group of guys and gals and we'd be happy to get you started on this addiction. Just don't listen to Shine too much ;)

Don't listen to those guys, Rick (Shine) is from the county and thinks the national fruit should be a potato and Kevin's from away. Waldo county is the place to be. Doc

Shine, don't you have diapers to change? And Doc, you're in Georgia, now that is way the hell away. I can make it back to West-By-God-Virginia on 1.5 tanks of gas, hate to see what it would take to get to Gawgia( but the food would almost be worth the trouble, lol.)

Geoff, I will more than likely be going to the range on Sunday, if the road dries out a bit more. Give me a call if you'd like to go shoot. Take care,

Kevin

Shine and Kevin are two of the small handful of folks I would ever trust behind me in the woods with a gun and you can't go wrong with either as a hunting or shooting pard. And a lot of fun to give a hard time to. Doc

Doc,
It's about time for you to come back up. The skeeters are out and need some of that city food. See ya at the 'Vous!
