As I mentioned in November, the Fort Loudoun commemoration of the 1760 taking of the fort is being held in August of this year. The registration is up and running, and info is available at this link:

http://fortloudoun.com/?page_id=647

You can find the registration info, along with what other resources you need for this juried event.

For Native reenactors, we have a yahoo group set up for questions and advice to shift from other portrayals that we'll be letting folks into in the next few days. That group (Cherokeevictory) is available from the registration/info link mentioned above.

We hope this event turns out to be similar to the conversation we've been having about the Johson Hall event, though it will be a specific cultural group. Since it's summertime in the south, it's not too difficult to dress down and fit an Overhill Cherokee portrayal.

By the way, if you are interested in participating as a member of the garrison, see the info Jeff Wells had posted on the registration page for details of what that will entail.

Folks, the site and event organizers are working hard to make the August event a memorable one. Like Wynnne said, it is pretty easy to 'dress down' and portray a Cherokee for this attack, and should be a lot of fun.
