If I were to hand you a piece of canvas, how many different ways are there to set it up as a shelter?
I will be working with some young ones in NC this next week, and they really want to set up tents. (Why? I don't know! ;D) They will have canvas to set up a lean-to, a diamond, a wedge, a one-pole/hunter/pyramid, and a French bell. I really don't want to cart the wall all the way up there, and was hoping to come up with another idea for 1 single piece of canvas.
I thought of using a canoe... but don't know where I'd be able to find one of those at this late date.
Any other suggestions? PLEASE???
Thanks for your help!

A quick and dirty method is to drape the tarp over a bush. First clear out an area below the bush, cut away lower limbs, etc as needed, then drape and secure the tarp. Works like a charm!
If you don't have a canoe, a large, downed tree can suffice.
Also--lay the tarp on the ground, lay on the tarp and pull the ends over you to form an envelope.
