|go to the local locker and pickup some fresh side meat and cut it into about one pound chunks . I use mortons tender quick (you can get it at the local store) and follow the directions on the back. I prefure the brine cure it wasnt as salty .when finished take it to youre smoker and smoke at a low temp. below 100 deg. The length of time depends on your taste. I smoke it for about 12 hrs but you can smoke it longer if you like a stronger smoke flavor.put it in cloth bags and set it in your frig. till you are ready to go out.This will give you grease to cook or for lamp and the bacon it self . I like things that have more than one use. I dont have to carry as much!
