|If you are a "week-end warrior" and want to keep your sergeant happy ? (Well, at least as happy as a sergeant "wants to be") Polishing buttons and keeping your uniform clean can be a chore unless you've got a "button stick". Some were made of wood or thin metal and were used to keep the gunk off the fabric. Being thrifty....Okay, CHEAP, I use a piece of scrap leather or canvas that is twice as wide as the button. Cut some slits big enough to slip the button through and polish away. This makes a right dandy apron. By the way, I shouldn't have to remind you to use BRICK DUST and NOT FLITZ or NEV'R DULL in camp!!!!
