|A little trick I learned in the Marine Corps to keep ticks and sketters away:
About three days before going into the bush, take one tablespoon of vinegar three times a day, and continue until your trek is over.
Most insects are attracted to their "host" by the CO-2 your body produces as a waste by-product.
I am not sure if the vinegar actually repelles the bugs, or if it just masks the CO-2. All I know for sure is that it does work.
Also, I have not found one type of vinegar that works better than another, however, apple-cider vinegar is the most palatable.
Keep your powder dry.
