A bullet mold can be used for more than one thing. I have used them with items over the fire that don't have a handle and also to skin catfish instead of pliers. A few period nails are nice too. I drive one thru the fishes head to hold it while I skin. In a pinch they make a usable leather awl too. You can find old forged nails for free in fallen down barns and houses. Be sure you remove them after use as some forest have rules against driving metal objects into trees.
