|Just another of those tips that everyone knows already, but - what the heck.
When the ground is warm and there is no need to provide insualtion, a more comfortable sleep can be had by digging a "hip" hole in the ground before laying down your ground cloth (or whatever). If you don't have a ground cloth you may wish to line the hole, and your sleeping area, with leaves or grass to keep from getting too full of dirt. The hip hole will allow you to lay on your side with much more comfort than laying on flat ground. You may wish to dig a "shoulder" hole as well.
