|This recipe is for 4 people.
1 cup Pemmican
1/2 cup parched corn or hominy
1/4 cup each dried onions, peppers, tomatoes
I use several kinds of peppers including hot in small quantities
1/8 cup wild rice
Salt, black pepper, garlic to taste
Dried peas, dried beans, fresh potatoes, mushrooms, hard sausages, or
jerky in small pieces.
All of these just add a little variety.
Cover with water. Bring to a boil. Then simmer on low fire for 45 minutes
to an hour. You may want to add flour to thicken if desired.
We serve with hardtack or flat bread. Makes for a very filling meal.
