I recently moved from Gettysburg, PA to Muskegon, MI, and am putting together a Milice kit to get into F&I reenacting. I am also interested in the Marine impression. I have reenacted ACW, WW1, and WW2 for years, and am looking for a change, and to be able to enjoy my experience without the mountain of politics and responsibilities of the other periods. (I've commanded units and organized battalions in other periods.)
I am originally from the city of Detroit(not the suburbs) and we vacationed in Mackinac every summer, so I've been interested in the 18th century since I was a kid. I also did a month stint filming "The War That Made America" for PBS, which greatly increased my dream to reenact this period.
Is anyone familiar with units or individuals in or around this region? My goal is to be kitted by the June Feast of the Strawberry Moon event in Grand Haven.
Thank you for your time and assistance,
