So as i glanced through the last issue of on the trail (december/january) i noticed that in the story of the writings of a mad women there were pictures of a pirogue/bateau. I imagine that the people in the pictures are on the forum. I was wondering if anyone knew them? I would like to ask some questions about the boats. I am looking at making a boat about the same size as the pictures and would like to get some advice. if someone could put me into contact with them that would be great.

thanks

Howdy!

You are in luck sir, as the captain of that particular scout has written a book on the construction of the pirogue and has it available for sale on his web site.

A fine man to deal with, you will find im sure.

I have wondered about that book. I've seen it but never really wanted to pay shipping on a 15 dollar book looks like I have to know. I have a small pirogue only holds me and my gear and has very little freeboard. A buddy and I are thinking of making one and we want one the size of the one in the article. 2 people and gear would be awesome to have.

Thanks for connecting author and book ill have to make an order.
