owl,my favorite is fried with a side of mashed potatos and collard greens.my wife likes to stew them up and make homemade dumplings, very good for older squirrels that might be a little tuff.another good recipe my brother inlaw uses,he lightly browns them in oil then chops up some onions and garlic, bake for about 30 minutes then cover in mushroom soup and bake for another hour. JEEZ! now i'm jonesin' for fried squirrel, thanks owl.

David50, the mushroom soup sounds good, I use that on pork chops and chicken. The squirrels out here are all grays and my understanding is they don't taste very good. I have found a spot with a lot of red oaks and acorns while turkey hunting and think after turkey season I'll harvest a couple of the grays and try them.
